Let’s begin the Awakening.  To begin the Awakening Isran says that he is curious about what the vampires were searching for at the Dimhollow Crypt.  Check your quest log.

Skyrim Dawnguard Walkthrough Awakening Part 2

Having linked-up with the leader of Dawnguard; Isran you have the next mission to discover what is so interesting to the vampires at the Dimhollow Crypt.  It appears as if the vampires are after something at the crypt, your mission … if you should chose to accept it … is to find out what the vampires are after.

Before you exit the fort take Isran up on his offer to help yourself to whatever you think might be helpful to you during your quest.  Chat a little bit more Tolan, he plans to join you at Dimhollow and get a little sweet revenge for what happened to his comrades.

Time to get underway, head back to the Dayspring Canyon.  You can fast travel to Volunruud, Ustengrav or Lord Stone.  From here you will need to head up the mountain trail by foot until you discover the Dimhollow Crypt.  It is at this time you should marvel over your ability to sail through Skyrim Dawnguard Walkthrough Awakening Part 2.


Enter the crypt and listen to the vampire bragging to a fledgling about Vigilants fighting well but not knowing when to give-up.  Causation, the vampire is still thirsty.

Skyrim Dawnguard Walkthrough Awakening Part 2

It’s killing time during Skyrim Dawnguard Walkthrough Awakening Part 2!  These vampires are chatting over Tolan’s dead body.  It’s time to kill.  After you take-out these vamps loot them … unfortunately, you also need to loot Tolan – it’s for a cause that he supported though.  Next you need to go through the locked gate, you can unlock the gate my using the chain that is upstairs.  Check everything including the chest upstairs.  Now that the gate is open head into the tunnels and follow the water stream.  It’s dark so if you have torch use it because you are sure to bump into things that need killed and or looted.  You should come across a lever that needs activated to get you access to more chests.  You will need to head downstairs and take out some more bad guys (and by guys, I mean vampires.)

Time to head down to the cavern.  Pull a chain and enter the gate.  Take out the undead including the Volkihar vampire at the waterfall. On the far side of the cavern is a platform.  Head down the hallway killing everything insight including spiders.  Work your way through the mayhem until you find the door to the Dimhollow Cavern.

Congratulations, you have just completed Skyrim Dawnguard Walkthrough Awakening Part 2.  You might need a little water break (or maybe Mountain Dew) and then you are ready to begin Skyrim Dawnguard Walkthrough Part 3: Dimhollow Cavern Brazier Puzzle Solution.
